urkish architecture firm Autoban have completed Turkish Airlines’ new CIP lounge at the Ataturk Airport International Departures in Istanbul. The lounge welcomes 2000 people everyday and is designed as a series of shell-shaped spaces within the greater airport space. Each ‘shell’ has its own function and provides an impressive variety of rest and leisure areas, including resting rooms, a restaurant, tea garden, library and movie theater. As separate as the spheres are, their unique design ensures that they transition effortlessly into one another.
